"Meaningful learning is possible in laboratory activities if all students are provided with opportunities to manipulate equipment and materials while working cooperatively with peers in an environment in which they are free to pursue solutions to problems that interest them."
Experimental investigation forms the foundation of growth and development. Demonstration of experiments is quite important for understanding the principles of science. Performing experiments, however, is more important, because it involves “Learning by doing”.
Our Physics laboratory is equipped with modern equipment to help the students to learn the concepts of Physics with experiments. It is designed to give practice in taking measurements, analysing data and drawing inferences. The lab is quite spacious and very well-ventilated.
The laboratory is fitted with a whiteboard and a Smartboard. The students spend most of their time at their lab tables performing their own experiments. There’s a computer in the lab. There is ample space in the middle of the room for performing experiments. The lab is very well equipped with instruments, like- Resonance tube, Optical benches, Travelling microscope, PN junction, zener diode, Transistor characteristic apparatus, meter bridges, battery eliminators, potentiometers, Hooke’s apparatus etc.
The pinboards on each wall are adorned with very suitable charts, maps, illustrations and quotes and at the same time various models, made by the students, are exhibited all around the lab. Meaningful learning will occur where laboratory activities are a well-integrated part of a learning sequence.
